New statistics showed that last February was the worst in the history of the US government in terms of budget deficit, which amounted to 234 billion dollars.
The US Treasury Department reported that the government received $ 167 billion and spent $ 401 billion last month.
Experts attributed the record deficit to increased spending by the Pentagon and tax breaks under the new tax law, as well as steady increases in spending on health care and social security, which are persistent problems for the federal budget.
The deficit goes beyond the size of the deficit of former US President Barack Obama in February 2012 (about $ 232 billion) during the tax cuts and overheating in government spending.
Analysts said US President Donald Trump was on the same path of spending and tax cuts despite some minor differences, but the biggest similarity was spending the Pentagon. Ending / 25
