The Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, Thursday, President of Lukoil Vagit Al-Kabirov increased investments and cooperation, while stressing the interest in the Iraqi economy and the need to build new refineries.
The Prime Minister's Office said in a statement received by the agency, "Al-Furat News," a copy of it, "Abdel-Mahdi received in his office, today, the President of Lukoil Mr. Fagit Kabirov, in the presence of Oil Minister Thamer Ghadhban, and discussed the company's work in Iraq and opportunities for increased investment and cooperation.
He stressed that Iraq is proud of its strategic relations with Russia and in partnership with Lukoil, explaining that what is important to us to promote the Iraqi economy and to make progress in the investment process.
He pointed to the need for Iraq to build refineries and the provision of oil derivatives and not just to export oil.
The head of Lukoil company, according to the statement, the work carried out by the company and its investment projects in the field of development of production and extraction in the oil fields and future plans in the light of the need of Iraq, noting that the company discovered oil reserves in the area (10) in Muthanna province, confirming the readiness of the company to meet the requirements of the oil sector And to provide expertise and training for Iraqi staff.
