The United States has closed the bank accounts of the Iranian Red Crescent Society and, through this action, has already evacuated aid from other countries to those affected by the floods, Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasimi said Tuesday.
"Given the freezing of the Red Crescent bank accounts, no foreign citizen or Iranian resident outside the country can send any assistance to flood victims," Qasimi said.
"This action by America came on the eve of the annual anniversary of America's withdrawal from the nuclear agreement, which reflects the trend against the popular people of this country's politicians, despite their sarcastic slogans and allegations," he said.
"Even during difficult and emergency conditions, all banking systems are not usually closed and humanitarian assistance is provided to people through institutions such as the Red Cross and Red Crescent. However, by adopting an inhumane approach, America has closed all avenues of assistance to the Floods ".
