    BAGHDAD - 
    Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi issued a directive to the financial authorities on US sanctions against Iran, government sources said on Thursday. 
    The sources told Mawazine News that "Abdul Mahdi directed the financial authorities in Iraq to abide by agreements signed with international bodies on the US sanctions against Iran." 
    She explained that "the confusion hit the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank, on Baghdad's continuing signals to its intention not to comply with US sanctions on Iran, but the prime minister finally dispelled this confusion." 
    The sources added that "Abdul-Mahdi replied to the queries of the financial authorities in his country on the mechanism to deal with US sanctions on Iran by stressing the need to abide by the charters signed with the United States and the International Monetary Fund in this regard."
    She pointed out that "Abdul Mahdi told the financial authorities in his country literally not to listen to the political courtesy of him or other officials, on US sanctions on Iran, and cruelty. 
    Any visit to Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi on Saturday is due to be held in Iran on a two-day official visit. 
    This is the second visit by Abdel Mahdi to the country since he became prime minister after his visit to Egypt at the end of last month. 
    Iran, Iraq's second largest exporter, is suffering sanctions that Americans have re-imposed following Washington's unilateral withdrawal in 2018 from an agreement on Iran's nuclear program reached in 2015.

    Government sources revealed on Thursday the most prominent files to be discussed by Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi during his visit to Iran scheduled for Saturday. 
    The sources told Mawazine News that it ruled out that "Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi will open sensitive files in his scheduled visit to Tehran next Saturday." 
    She added that "Abdel-Mahdi will add to that visit a special character, as he opens his tours in the region, which indicates the special status occupied by the relationship with Iran for the Iraqi government." 
    Although the prime minister did not set a date for his visit to Saudi Arabia, Iran or Turkey before going to Washington when he announced them personally on Tuesday evening, and only indicated that he will be in two weeks, but his press office said that Abdul Mahdi will go to Tehran on Saturday, Two days.
    The sources stressed that "the economic nature will dominate the visit," 
    and sources expected, "that seeks to Abdul Mahdi to listen to Iranian leaders to know their position on his visits to the countries of the region and to seek what Iraq can play in the transfer of views of Iran to the Arab countries, What can not be confirmed or denied, as any of the parties concerned did not show his willingness to accept such a role that Adel Abdel Mahdi himself to do. " 
    The visit comes amid US pressure on Baghdad to reduce relations with its neighbor, especially in the field of energy imports. In a recent visit to Washington, Speaker of Parliament Mohammad Halboussi said that Iraq should continue to rely on Iran for electricity for at least three years. 
    This is the second visit by Abdel Mahdi to the country since he became prime minister after his visit to Egypt at the end of last month.

    "Abdul-Mahdi replied to the queries of the financial authorities in his country on the mechanism to deal with US sanctions on Iran by stressing the need to abide by the charters signed with the United States and the International Monetary Fund in this regard.

    Screams of ending the auctions..... Since Iran is starving for dollars and uses the auctions to circumvent the sanctions.

    The strategic framework agreement that was implemented by Iraq and U.S. last week, would not have happened if they
    Didn’t have a fully seated Government, just my opinion.
    The Wold Bank could not sign a M.O.U. without a fully seated Government, that’s all

    Minister of interior has yet to be approved for this gov. It's one of the four seats yet to be resolved...Right now we have an acting interior minister, which is what they mean by a proxy. It is reported there are 3 ministries with names submitted, justice remains unresolved for names nominated. Mahdi doesn't want to make the formal submission of names without having names for justice. that's where it stands. The loans are waiting the completion of the gov in order to be dispensed. As far as I can see not one cent is released yet. Then again they did pass a budget with an incomplete gov didn't they? Following normal procedure hasn't been their strong suit, but it appears the IMF and the US are holding these cards. I mean we did see Mahdi issue a directive to finance to follow the IMF US concerning Iran. In any case I'll keep watching these ministry vacancies.

    MP from the bloc of Sadikun parliamentary, Ahmed Kanani, on Wednesday, the receipt of the Prime Minister the names of candidates for ministries vacant except for justice. 
    He said Kanani, "Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, the names of candidates for the remaining ministries except Justice." 
    He added that "delaying the resolution of the cab because of the Kurds, because they do not agree with a candidate for the Ministry of Justice," noting that "Abdul-Mahdi wants to provide ministries in a single payment, not installments." 
    He Kanani, "The Ministries of Interior and Defense resolved by a very large, there are personalities nominated for these ministries by political consensus." Ended 29 / a 43

    The head of the reconstruction fund of the affected areas, Mustafa al-Hiti, on Thursday, the arrival of completion rates of projects that began in 2016-2017 to 99 percent, indicating that there are 26 billion of investment loans allocated at the Kuwait Conference and stalled because of delayed formation Iraqi government.

    Al-Hiti told "Iraq News" that "the completion rates in the projects that were established in the areas affected by terrorism for the year 2016 - 2017 amounted to 99 percent and projects in 2018 also reached the advanced stages."

    He added that "there are 26 billion dollars within the investment loans allocated by the countries in the Kuwait Conference for the reconstruction of Iraq and is now waiting for the formation of the Iraqi government and know the policy of Iraq where to turn and then launch."
