On Thursday, April 11, 2019, Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohamed Halboussi stressed the importance of strengthening the institutions of the state in a way that avoids political differences.

During the meeting, "reviewed the latest political developments in the country, and the efforts of the House of Representatives in cooperation with the political forces to end the sectarian and partisan quotas in the institutions of the state."

"The parliament is keen to strengthen the institutions of the state in a manner that distanced itself from political differences by adhering to the constitution, monitoring executive performance, and correcting efforts in a manner that enables the government to face the challenges of returning the displaced, reconstructing what has been destroyed by terrorism and eradicating corruption," he said.
It is noteworthy that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohamed Halbousi, earlier directed the hosting of the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers and members of the office of Abdul Mahdi in parliament to discuss the flood.
