    The provincial council of Maysan, on Sunday, the loss of the province due to the closure of the border port of Shaib more than 20 billion dinars, noting that the province witnessed a significant rise in prices after the closure.
    Council member Sarhan Al-Ghalibi told Al-Maaloumah that "the closure of the Shib for more than two weeks has caused significant losses to the province from the imports that Maysan was getting from the port."
    He added that "the volume of losses during the two weeks reach more than 20 billion dinars," noting that "the province has seen a significant rise in prices, especially food after the crisis of floods and closing the port."
    He called on the majority of the central government to "move urgently and save the province and open the port because of its great economic impact on the province."
