Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, Tuesday, to direct an official invitation to the Pope to visit Iraq.
"Iraq has defined the world by its new policy based on the definition of the participants," said Abdul Mahdi, in his weekly conference and attended by Mawazin News. "The government is keen to maintain communication with neighboring countries, which will reflect positively on the internal situation of the country."
He added that "cooperation is continuing with neighboring countries and the regional environment to pursue the remnants of Dahesh."
And revealed, "to direct an official invitation to the Pope to visit the shrine of the Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) in Iraq."
As for the formation of the government and the completion of the ministerial cabin, Abdul-Mahdi said: "We look forward to the end of the political forces to resolve the names of candidates for ministries vacant soon."
On the energy sector, Abdul Mahdi said that "Iraq has ambitious plans to develop the gas production sector," pointing out that "the collection of electricity is very necessary to regulate the daily consumption of energy."
He pointed out that "there are no further plans to expand the collection of electricity," stressing that "the government will provide electricity to citizens this season better than before."
On Tuesday, the Cabinet holds a regular session, chaired by its chairman, Adel Abdul Mahdi, to discuss and vote on a number of laws on its agenda, while Abdul Mahdi will hold a press conference to talk about the latest political, security, social and economic developments.
