"

    The announcement comes a sudden amid reports of U.S. pressure on the province to resume oil exports with a planned visit by Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Hussain al-Shahristani, to the Kurdistan region to discuss the outstanding problems between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government that comes after the news of the settlement of disputes between Baghdad and Erbil and approval for export oil through SOMO.

    She stressed, "We will continue to act as a neutral intermediary and provide facilities to the extent that you want the leaders of the central government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, and consistent with long-term partnership with Iraq, as set out in the Strategic Framework Agreement."
