    announced that the Ministry of Electricity, on Thursday, the launch of the first round of solar energy investment projects capacity of 755 MW. 

    The ministry said in a statement received by Alsumaria News, a copy of it, "The Ministry of Electricity launched the first round of solar photovoltaic (renewable) investment projects, by inviting companies specialized in the manufacture of electricity from solar photovoltaic plants, and working in the field of investment.




    "These companies were invited to invest in 755 megawatts to build solar plants in five governorates (Babel, Wasit, Karbala, Al-Muthanna and Diwaniyah) as a first round," the ministry said. Sites in the south and west of Iraq. " 

    The ministry added that "five of the five governorates will be allocated seven sites for which the capacity will be distributed, namely the Sawa project (1) 30 megawatts, the Sewa project (2) 50 megawatts, the green project of 50 megawatts in Al Muthanna province, And the project of Alexandria (225) megawatts in the province of Babylon, Karbala project card (300) megawatts in the holy province of Karbala, and Diwaniyah project (50) megawatts in the province of Diwaniya.

    The Ministry considered that "this step is one of the ambitious steps of the Ministry of Electricity to introduce renewable energy systems in the synthesis of the electrical system, where it is hoped that these energies to enter the national electricity system by the end of 2020." 

    The ministry said that "our future vision is that Iraq is a regional and global center for the transfer of electricity and innovation in the field of renewable energies during the next ten years an integrated package from local manufacturing to the development of projects locally and internationally."
