US President Donald Trump on Sunday sent a message of congratulations to Muslims around the world on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
"I would like to extend my warmest greetings to all the Muslims who celebrate the holy month of Ramadan," said Trump, in a letter published on May 5, 2019.
"The holy month of Ramadan marks the anniversary of the coming of the Holy Quran to Muhammad," said Trump, adding that the Muslim families and communities will see the revelation through the beginning of the month of spiritual reflection, spiritual renewal and prayer.
"During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset, recite verses from the Koran and do good deeds and voluntary charity for others, and by doing so they develop a new understanding of the purpose of their spiritual tour in-depth appreciation of God's mercy."
