The Committee on Culture, Information, Tourism and Antiquities in the House of Representatives on Saturday expressed dissatisfaction with some of the blatant programs that are currently on the screens of some Iraqi satellite channels.
The committee's president, Sami al-Ghalab, Vice-President Hamdallah al-Rikabi and members MP Bashar al-Kiki, MP Ali Ghawi and MP Ali al-Hamdawi called on satellite channels that offer programs contrary to the public taste and the values and norms that characterize Iraqi society to stop it because it contradicts the sanctity of Ramadan.
The Chairman and members of the Committee also requested the Information and Communications Commission to monitor all programs on television and submit them to specialized committees and to notify our Committee of the measures taken as soon as possible.
The Committee said in the statement that it "wishes to emphasize to all that it is supportive of the sober and purposeful art that reflects a bright face on the Iraqi social system in all its components and our committee with the freedom of opinion and expression and the presentation of programs in all their forms and categories, but within the professional and moral limits set by the laws, Sanctity of holy months among peoples ".
And raised scenes in the series and programs shown on Iraqi satellite channels angered by some observers and activists on social networking sites in Iraq, they said that it is what shames modesty.
