The head of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, Hesham al-Suhail, on Wednesday denied the formation of a new parliamentary committee to fight corruption, stressing that only his committee is responsible for combating corruption.
"The Integrity Committee is responsible for combating corruption and there is no new committee to combat it," Suhail said in a statement received by Al-Maaloumah.
He added that "what was published by one of the newspapers on the formation of a special parliamentary committee to combat corruption is not true," noting that "was contacted the Speaker of the parliament, which confirmed the denial of the formation of any committee in this regard."
