The Jordanian Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply affirmed Jordan's keenness to develop economic and trade cooperation with Iraq in a way that serves the common interests and maximizes the benefit of the opportunities available in both countries.
According to a statement issued by the ministry today, the two sides have worked to implement the understandings reached recently between them for the purpose of upgrading the bilateral relations, which translated into visions of the leadership of the two countries and their directives to work to achieve integration in many sectors in light of the possibilities available.
"Jordan is keen to serve these understandings of common economic interests, and all agreements and understandings reached between the two sides recently include mutual benefits and additional benefits for their economies," the ministry said.
She added: "The Jordanian government has taken many measures related to the origin of Jordanian goods exported to the Iraqi market, which did not exceed during the year 2017, 1.6% of the volume of Iraqi imports from the world, where these actions were briefed the Iraqi technical delegations during the technical visits, To issue certificates of origin of Jordan, "explaining:" The Iraqi side expressed admiration for the advanced level reached by Jordan in this area. "
The Jordanian Customs Department was also instructed to confirm its cadres to verify the origin of the missions destined for the Iraqi market, whether from the Jordanian market or transit, and to inform the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply of any violations in this regard. After ensuring that they meet the fully approved conditions.
The Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Tariq Al-Hamouri said in a meeting held by Iraqi public and private officials that the most severe legal sanctions will be applied against any person or company that proves its involvement in any practice leading to failure to meet the required conditions for the Jordanian origin of exported goods to the Iraqi market .
