Minister of Culture: We have prepared 50 percent of the stolen antiquities

Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Abdul-Amir Al-Hamadani announced the allocation of 20 billion dinars in this year's budget to develop tourist structures in Samarra, Babil and the Marshlands.
Al-Hamdani said in a press statement: "The reconstruction of buildings and mosques in Samarra, and we began the opening of museums in Kirkuk, Maysan and Mosul. We have a plan to restore the temples in the Nineveh Plain, regardless of its religious authority and plan for the reconstruction of Ur and Khorsabad in Dhi Qar."
The minister pointed out that "Iraq has witnessed the largest looting and destruction of [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] sites after 2003," noting that so far has been the return of 50 percent of the stolen antiquities, offset by the looting of 60 percent of the archaeological sites. "
