The Royal Dutch Shell Company confirmed on Wednesday that all its employees in Iraq are safe and that operations in the country are proceeding normally.
A spokesman for the company said that "all its employees in Iraq are safe," stressing that "its operations in the country is going normally, after the fall of a missile on the headquarters of a number of foreign oil companies near the city of Basra in southern Iraq."
"We will remain vigilant and will continue to monitor the security situation and communicate with local authorities," he said.
The security information cell reported today the fall of a Katyusha rocket on a company drilling oil wells in the area of Bargesia Basra province, wounding three people as a preliminary result.
Reuters said ExxonMobil was preparing a plan to evacuate 20 employees to win after the incident
