Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Thursday that the granting of electronic visas serves the development of tourism in the country.
"The important issue is to facilitate the entry of tourists to the country," Zarif said in a statement on the sidelines of the International Fair in Isfahan.
He added that "the tourism exhibition is an opportunity to acquaint citizens with the tourist attractions of the provinces and cities of the country."
"The Islamic Republic of Iran can make a big leap in the tourism sector today and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has created a special circle to encourage tourism," Zarif said.
Zarif pointed out that "the tourism sector can be one of the important sectors that significantly support the economy of resistance in the country and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is active on several levels in this area, including the definition of tourist attractions to Iran through embassies."
