Al-Jubeir: We are working to reduce Iran's influence in Iraq and strengthen the relationship with Baghdad

The Saudi minister of state for foreign affairs Adel al-Jubair stressed that Saudi Arabia would not allow Iran to "occupy Yemen" and is working to undermine its influence in Iraq.
"The region is under constant threat from Iranian-backed terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah and the Houthis who steal humanitarian aid and target Saudi security," the Saudi minister of state for foreign affairs said in a statement on Thursday.
"We are working with all Libyan parties to find a solution to the crisis in the country, and we are working with allies to ensure the continued supply of energy to the global market."
He added that his country was "working to reduce Tehran's influence in Iraq and to strengthen relations with Baghdad."
Earlier on Thursday, Saudi State Minister for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubair stressed that if Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz, it would trigger a "very, very strong"
"Saudi Arabia is consulting with the allies to secure waterways and is looking at various options, especially that Iran's attacks on the shipping route affect the world," al-Jubair said.
