Trump warns Iran of "war of annihilation not sought"
US President Donald Trump has reiterated that he is not seeking a war with Iran, but warned that the conflict would lead to a war of "genocide."
"I do not seek war and if it happens, it will be an annihilation that Iran has never seen, but I do not look forward to it," Trump said.
The Air Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that it had shot down a US Army Air Force Global Hawk aircraft flying over the coast of the city of Koh Mubarak, in the state of Hormuzgan, overlooking the Gulf of Oman.
But the US military denied what Tehran announced, and said that the plane "was flying in international airspace over the Straits of Hormuz, and that US aircraft did not penetrate Iranian airspace."
