[size=18]Basra Council member Karim al-Maliki said on Saturday that the people of Basra will not be patient with a government that does not impose prestige, pointing out that Basra is going to establish a province and will not give up.

Maliki said in an interview for Alsumaria, that "[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]'s problems are chronic for years and are in constant demonstrations," noting that "the local government was unable to resolve the problems and issues of [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]."

He added that "the problem exists in the current political system and how to run the country," noting that "demonstrators are demanding today legitimate rights, including jobs."

"The former prime minister visited [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] previously and fired 10 thousand degrees for his sons and when he returned to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], we did not see anything," he said, adding that "the reasons for delay in meeting the demands of the demonstrators is the federal system."

He stressed that "the demonstrations yesterday in front of the house of the President of the provincial council where the political signals," pointing out that "the political facades entered and extended its hands and claws in the visual street and moved the demonstrations in political directions."

"We will not insist on this government, which does not impose its prestige and will," he said, adding that "we are going to the province of [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], and will start Basrion in the procedures to establish their territory."
It is worth mentioning that former MP Wael Abdul Latif tried in 2008 to transform the province into a province without the success of his attempt to succeed. In 2015, the former MP Mohammed al-Tai submitted another request to the Electoral Commission for the establishment of the province accompanied by signatures of 44 thousand voters. The central government has delayed the organization of a partial referendum, the second and last phase of the establishment of the province.
