Baghdad investment: the capital needs a million housing units to solve the housing crisis

The head of the Baghdad Investment Authority, Shaker Zamili, on Tuesday, the need for the capital to one million housing units to address the housing crisis.
"The capital really needs to build one million housing units," Zamili told the RODAO news network. Stressing that 8 million people live in Baghdad.
He pointed out that the Authority has drawn up plans for the completion of 500 thousand housing units, while the construction has been started 130 thousand units.
Al-Zamili also stressed that the investment projects in Baghdad targeting the middle class, while the Iraqi government is working to contain the crisis of slums in Baghdad and the provinces.
He explained that Basra will be the first Iraqi province to include the project of the distribution of residential land to the poor soon.
