(Reuters) - The British-flagged tanker Pacific Voyager, which was flying Britain's flag and stopped in the Persian Gulf on Saturday, was "safe and well," reports quoted an official in the UK's maritime trade group as saying.
Reuters said the British official's response came after Iran denied reports that the Revolutionary Guard had detained it .

On Friday, an Iranian Revolutionary Guard commander threatened to detain a British ship in response to the British Royal Marines' detention of a giant Iranian oil tanker in Gibraltar on Thursday .
The data from the Reconnaissance Platform for the Tracking of Ship Tracks showed that the British carrier stopped in the Gulf as it headed for Saudi Arabia from Singapore, and the carrier resumed its flight later .
"The stop was a routine procedure to schedule its arrival at the next port," the UK maritime trade group official told Reuters .
