, Iraq - Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi said the electricity production reached an unprecedented record of 19,000 megawatts (MW), adding that "we have a clear way to solve the electricity crisis in the country."
"The arrival of senior officials from friendly and brotherly countries to Baghdad has become almost a daily affair," Abdul Mahdi said at his weekly press conference. "We met with the Siemens and General Electric officials and the study of the reality of electricity in Iraq has been settled."
"We have a clear path to solve the electricity crisis, which has been a major obstacle in the country for the past 15 years and even before," he said.
In a separate context, the Council of Ministers approved in its meeting on Tuesday, the draft law for the first amendment to the Law of the General Census of Population and Housing No. (40) for 2008.
At the same meeting, the approval of borrowing the General Grain Trade Company / Ministry of Commerce of the Iraqi Trade Bank The amount of trillion and 400 billion Iraqi dinars for the purpose of payment of dues of farmers for the year 2019.
