[International: Euphrates News} Turkish Interior Minister Suleiman Suelo said that European governments will not be able to withstand 6 months, if the country opened its doors to immigrants and allowed them to cross into the continent.
"We will do what is necessary, and we will strike a painful blow at those who want to make Turkey a center for illegal immigration, and we will cut off water and air from smugglers of immigrants," he was quoted as saying during a dinner with the Turkish Coast Guard commander.
The Turkish Interior Minister said that the European Union left Turkey alone in the face of waves of illegal immigration, pointing out that "European governments can not withstand 6 months if Turkey opened its doors to immigrants heading towards the old continent."
Those who want to move from the Middle East to Europe, paying a ransom to organize the Da'ash, the PKK and human smugglers, "to find himself eventually in the middle of the sea are facing death," Suilu said.
The Turkish minister revealed the presence of large numbers of African citizens among the illegal immigrants who are caught by the Turkish Coast Guard.
"In 2017, we seized 175,752 irregular migrants in the sea and land, and that number rose to 268,000 by 2018. Since the beginning of the year to date, 162,692 irregular migrants have been seized," he said.
Sawilo said his country's authorities "do not deal with migrants who are caught as terrorists or perpetrators."
