"I will not hold on to power and I will work to hand over the secretariat and thank the parliament if it insists on removing me from office," Abdul Mahdi said in an interview with a group of journalists. "The political forces will not venture to go to the confidence-building project."
"The conditions that the government is currently working on are better than in the period following its formation," he said.
He pointed out that "the Council of Ministers formed a committee of non-partisan elements to study lists of positions by proxy."
"We have not yet formed an adult opposition or an adult majority and we are still living in the past," Abdul Mahdi said.
"The popular crowd is a reality and can not be thought of weakening or neglecting it," he said.
"We have achieved a record in the marketing of grain crops, and what we have done is to buy crops directly from the farmer and support him and we paid him the amounts of crops and encouraged him to agriculture," he said.
"Our economic system is full of brakes that are blocking the economy from going into the future, and we need to unify the vision of all institutions that gather that Iraq can not solve the issue of unemployment without starting towards the national economy," he said.
