    Texas Veterans Commission 16th Annual Veterans Summit
    Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) will be hosting the 16th Annual Veterans Summit on May 15 at the Windham Riverwalk Hotel, 111 East Pecan Street, in San Antonio.
     
    The theme of the Veterans Summit this year is "Circles of Service" and will highlight how Veteran organizations, non-profit organizations, schools, companies, and local, state, and federal government agencies work together to overlap their "Circles of Service" to provide resources for Veterans and their families.

    The Veterans Summit will begin at 8:00 a.m. with opening remarks from the Honorable Joe Straus, Speaker of the Texas House Representatives, followed by an opening panel of elected officials to provide their insights on issues related to Texas Veterans and their families.

    Texas Capitol Vietnam Veterans Monument Dedication
    Forty-one years to the day after the last American troops were in Vietnam, the state of Texas welcomed its Vietnam Veterans home as the Texas Capitol Vietnam Veterans Monument was dedicated on March 29. The date has been officially designated as “Texas Vietnam Veterans Day” by the Texas legislature.

    5th Annual Justice Involved Veteran's Conference
    The 5th Annual Justice Involved Veteran's Conference will take place on May 12-14 at the Wyndham Riverwalk Hotel in San Antonio. The event will cover topics from Veterans courts to cutting-edge treatment services.

    VA removes annual income reporting requirement
    The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is eliminating the annual requirement for most Veterans enrolled in VA's health care system to report income information beginningin March 2014. Instead, VA will automatically match income obtained from the Internal Revenue Service and Social Security Administration.

    VA kicks off disabled Veterans winter sports clinic
    VA announced today that more than 400 disabled Veterans are hitting the slopes this week at the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic in Snowmass Village, Colo., the largest adaptive sports event of its kind in the world, scheduled through April 4.
