The MP of the Fatah alliance Mohammed al-Baldawi, on Thursday, that the lifting of the immunity of deputies does not mean their conviction or the abolition of their membership within parliament, pointing out that the lifting of immunity came in order to liquidate some things with the judiciary.
"The immunity enjoyed by the MP closes the door to the judiciary, and therefore the Federal Court lifted the immunity of some lawmakers to end some legal procedures and then return immunity to them in the event that nothing is proved their right," Baldawi said in a statement.
He added that "lifting the immunity of deputies does not mean the abolition of their membership of parliament, but will remain deputies until the charges are proven or committed crimes against honor."
"The lifting of immunity must pass through the parliament, which in turn should vote to lift it before going to the court, as the Federal Court to lift immunity must be followed by approval or rejection by parliament." Ending / 25 n
