    confirmed the Iraqi Foreign Ministry on Thursday that Iraq 's participation in the "Astana" talks about the crisis in Syria, is a response to an invitation to the guarantor of the path of "Astana" States, as an observer, noting that the orientation of Baghdad clearly towards resolving this Crisis by political means, and stay away from the military solution. 

    "Iraq is taking part today in the Astana talks, which is one of the important avenues of dialogue for the parties to the Syrian-Syrian conflict, which could lead to an end to the violence in this country and to positive results," Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmad al-Sahaf said. 

    He added: "We welcome any efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis, and strongly support ending it by peaceful means, and we express our readiness to coordinate with the countries of the world in order to end the suffering of the Syrian people, which entered its ninth year."

    Al-Sahaf added: "As for the privacy of Syria as a sister Arab country, we have called for the possibility of a peaceful solution since the outbreak of the crisis, which prevents it from entering into conflicts.
