A member of the Basra provincial council, Ahmed al-Sulaiti, survived an assassination attempt on Friday, August 09, 2019 following the attack on his house by an explosive device placed in front of his house.
Al-Sulaiti told Rudaw Media Network that "unknown gunmen attacked his house at 1:00 am on Friday with a bomb placed in front of his house." He pointed out that the attack did not result in any casualties. "
He also stressed that the gunmen fled after the attack on his home. He
