Iraq declares its rejection of Israel's participation in securing the passage of ships in the Gulf

Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali al-Hakim on Monday announced his country's rejection of Israel's participation in securing maritime safety in the Gulf.
Hakim said in a post on the social networking site "Twitter" today, that Iraq "rejects the participation of the forces of the Zionist entity in any military force to secure the passage of ships in the Arabian Gulf."
He added that "the Arab Gulf states are able to secure the passage of ships in the Gulf," noting that "Iraq seeks to reduce tension in our region through calm negotiations and the presence of Western forces in the region will increase tension."
