Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, condemned Israel's decision to ban two members of the House from entering the country.
Pelosi said in a statement on Thursday that "Israel's blocking of members of Congress Taleb and Omar from entering the country, is a sign of weakness and does not rise to the dignity of the great state of Israel."
Pelosi also criticized US President Donald Trump's remarks on the two deputies, calling them "evidence of ignorance and disrespect and not living up to the dignity of the president's office."
Pelosi expressed regret over the Israeli decision, adding that she hoped Israel would back down.
Israel has prevented the two members of the US House of Representatives, Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, known for their pro-Palestinian positions, from entering the territory of the country, saying that their visit aims to harm Israel and strengthen its boycott.
