    BAGHDAD - 
    The leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Hoshyar Zebari, revealed how the candidate of the Dawa Party, Haider al-Abadi, took over the premiership of Iraq in 2014, although Nuri al-Maliki was the highest votes in the elections. 
    Zebari said, "The Americans had a problem with Nuri al-Maliki, and they felt that it must be changed," noting that "Washington's desire to change al-Maliki was caused by the latter did not deal in the management of the situation in the country well, as well as other things, including his position on the spring Arab and Syrian file. 
    He added that "the arrival of Haider al-Abadi to power, was a coincidence, because of the desire of the Americans to change, although Maliki won the elections with the highest votes." 
    Zebari said, "Washington has agreed to support Iraq in the fight against Daesh, provided that an urgent official request to do so."
    He pointed out that "some Iraqi leaders did not expect the approval of the United States to help Iraq in the war against ISIS."

    [rtl]Hoshyar Zebari, the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), revealed that the United States has agreed to take over the Dawa candidate, Haider al-Abadi, as prime minister of Iraq in 2014, despite the fact that Nuri al-Maliki had the highest number of votes in the elections.[/rtl]
