The statement added that "during the meeting discussed the reality of human rights in Iraq, headed by the file of the absentees and abductees and the latest findings of the Committee on the steps taken to move this file and political movements and contacts with organizations related to the humanitarian file and human rights."
The Committee stressed, according to the statement, "the importance of the United Nations and the international community to support this file and encourage the Iraqi government to cooperate with the Commission and to disclose the fate of the disappeared and abducted."
