A former leader of the Salim al-Jubouri party, the Civil Rally for Reform (“Work”), on Wednesday, announced a forthcoming meeting of the General Assembly of the whole party to discuss the upcoming alliances after the announcement of secession from al-Jubouri.
Leader Mutasim al-Obeidi said in a statement to the information that "the political body in full members will meet next Monday to announce the next step after announcing the split from Salim al-Jubouri."
He added that "the body with the six deputies of the party will announce the next step and all options are on the table and the formation of a new party or the announcement of an alliance with some national forces compatible with the party's proposals."
Obeidi said that "talk about the accession of dissenting deputies as well as the General Assembly of the Labor Party to Mohammed Halbousi completely untrue because the concern of the body is the political consensus with all parties and stand at a distance of unity before joining any party."
