    [size=18]US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has received a call from US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, his office said Monday.


    "Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi received a phone call from US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo," the office said in a statement received by Alsumaria News.
     
    An informed source said that "the two sides discussed the political and security situation in the region in addition to strengthening relations between Iraq and the United States."

    BAGHDAD: Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi received a phone call from US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday.
    "Abdul Mahdi received a phone call from US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo," the prime minister's office said in a brief statement received by the Euphrates News Agency.

    BAGHDAD -
    The media office of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, on Monday, what his recent discussion with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
    "The Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi received a phone call from US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo last night, during which they discussed the upcoming meetings between officials of the two countries," the office said in a statement. The two sides assessed their position on the current crisis and agreed to cooperate in the exchange of information. "
    The Prime Minister stressed that "the task of Iraq is to maintain its security and stability and avoid any step of escalation and to prevent the use of its territory against any neighboring country or brotherly or friendly," adding that "Iraq policy seeks to play a positive role to dismantle the crises and conflicts in the region and keep the specter of war Iraq and the region and its distance from the axes policy. "
    For his part, the US Secretary of State that "the information they have confirms the statement of the Iraqi government not to use its territory in the implementation of this attack."
