Karim, a member of the House of Representatives for the "conquest" led by the Secretary-General of the Badr Organization Hadi al-Amiri on Thursday the need for the federal government to linger in the re-opening of the port "Arar" border between Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
"The Iraqi government should be careful not to reopen the Arar border crossing with Saudi Arabia," committee member Karim Alaiwi told Shafaq News. "This crossing could be a transit for terrorists and saboteurs to Iraq."
He added that "the Iraqi government is required to postpone the opening of this crossing, especially since the situation in the region is very crisis, and this crossing may be used to undermine the security and stability of Iraq and the Iraqis, and therefore Baghdad should be cautious of this step, which may have consequences are ominous."
The Saudi and Iraqi sides recently agreed to start commercial trial of the new Arar border port on October 15.
