Lebanon's banks meet customer demand for the US dollar, with the possibility of withdrawing from ATMs in most banks, central bank governor Riad Salameh said on Monday.
"The dollar is available in Lebanon," Salameh said.

He pointed out that any procedures for ATMs "due to the policy of each bank separately," according to Reuters reported.
The Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon said that any transaction that the customer can not make through ATMs, "can be conducted through the outlets of the bank."
Some companies say they have to turn to exchange offices to meet their hard currency needs and are paying a higher price than the official rate of 1507.5 Lebanese pounds to the dollar.
