Oil: Gasoline production exceeded 15 million liters per day

The Ministry of Oil revealed on Wednesday that the production of gasoline exceeded 15 million liters per day, up by 4 million liters per day from last year.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for refineries Hamid Al-Zobaie said in a statement reported by the official newspaper "morning" and seen by "Economy News", "The ministry continues its plans to maximize the production of oil derivatives, especially gasoline through the development of a number of refineries and the addition of new units for most of them, as well as re "Rehabilitating a number of others, especially the Al-Samoud refinery (Baiji), which provided nearly 50 percent of the country's oil derivatives before being destroyed by ISIS criminal gangs."
He added that "technical and engineering staff has been able to self-rehabilitate and record for this refinery, which now produces approximately one million and 300 thousand liters of gasoline and 380 tons of liquid gas, in addition to producing nearly three million liters of gas oil." "These quantities produced are part of the second phase of the rehabilitation operations."
Al-Zobaie said that the staff has now started the third phase of the rehabilitation of Salahuddin 2 refinery within the steadfastness of refining to maximize the production of oil derivatives and increase, where it is planned to add the units of Izmra and improve gasoline for this refinery so that the production of gasoline to 4 million liters per day, which contributes to maximize the current production by Two million seven hundred thousand liters per day.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil that "local refineries currently produce 15 million and five hundred thousand liters per day of gasoline, an increase from last year estimated at four and a half million liters, and the ministry seeks to enhance the volume of production of other derivatives."
He pointed out that "the need of Iraq from gasoline at peak times is estimated at 26 million barrels per day and the ministry deliberately to fill the shortfall in the current stage through import, and therefore, the ministry seeks to eliminate this problem according to the need accounts and population growth through the preparation of a plan to develop all Refineries, in addition to building new refineries by investing in a number of provinces.
