The leader of the national wisdom movement, Abbas al-Issawi, criticized the preoccupation of the countries of the region to buy weapons while the world is suffering from an economic recession.
"The countries of the world are suffering from an economic recession and are worried about this and the countries of our region are busy spending their money to buy weapons and materiel despite having the money to move the economies of the region," Issawi said in a statement.
"The West seeks to keep the region a market for the sale of weapons and materiel," he said, noting that "the loss of oil money for decades has been lost with decades of development opportunities," wondering "Are these wars from the end?"
