The leader of the Sadr movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, on Friday evening demanded the resignation of the government headed by Adel Abdul Mahdi, the right to the Iraqi blood.
Mohammed Saleh, an Iraqi close to Sadr, posted on social networking sites "Facebook" a statement bearing the seal of the latter read, "inject the blood of Iraqi Sharif with the resignation of the government.
"Let us start with early elections under the supervision of the United Nations," he said.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The leader of Sadr's movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, called on Friday for the resignation of the Iraqi government and early elections in the country, after the escalation of protests and the fall of dozens in Baghdad and many Iraqi cities.
"Inject the Iraqi blood of Sharif with the resignation of the government and the holding of early elections under the supervision of the United Nations," Sadr said in a statement obtained by Al Hurra.
Sadr added that "the disregard for Iraqi blood can not be tolerated."

Abadi calls for the date of early elections .. "UNAMI": must stop the killing in Iraq

     2019-10-05 13:12:33

Former Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on Saturday called on political leaders to set a first date for early legislative elections in Iraq to end the crisis of bloody demonstrations that entered its fifth consecutive day.
Abadi said in a statement issued by his office today that "the government has lost the capacity to run the government, I ask the country's leaders to set an initial date for early elections."
"Ensuring free and fair elections with broad public participation is a testament to the seriousness of the political forces to respond to the calls for reform demanded by the people," he said.
In the meantime, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq called for an end to the continuous killing of demonstrators in the country through live bullets.
"I am deeply saddened by the unjustified loss of life," she said. "Five days ago, reports of deaths and injuries were reported: this must stop."
The Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Iraq called on "all parties to stop and think, and those responsible for violence must be held accountable."
Protests intensified Saturday evening in Baghdad and the provinces of Dhi Qar and Diwaniya, security forces continued to fire live bullets at the protesters.
Baghdad and a number of other Shi'ite-dominated provinces are witnessing bloody demonstrations sparked on Tuesday. According to the latest toll, more than 100 demonstrators were shot dead by security forces.
These demonstrations are the most violent since the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime in 2003 and so far, where thousands of protests took place in protests demanding the provision of services, improve the living conditions, provide jobs for the unemployed, and eliminate the phenomena of widespread unemployment in the society, and financial and administrative corruption rampant in state departments and institutions .
Sadr's leader, Moqtada al-Sadr, called on Friday for the resignation of the government headed by Adel Abdul-Mahdi, a right to Iraqi blood, and went ahead with early elections under the supervision of the United Nations.
The office of Iraq's top cleric, Ali al-Sistani, called on the three authorities in Iraq to take steps leading to "real" reform, in a statement read out by his representative on the protests in Iraq.

Sadr clings to the resignation of Abdul Mahdi's government

Muqtada al-Sadr, the leader of the largest bloc in parliament, yesterday stuck to his position calling for the resignation of the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi, while renewed demonstrations in Baghdad and Iraqi cities and killed 14 people with live bullets.

Sources said that prominent political leaders sought to persuade [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to stop calling for the dismissal of the government, but he insisted on his position, raising fears that his followers will join the demonstrations.

With the curfew lifted and the internet blocked after four days of protests and clashes, police and medical sources confirmed more clashes between demonstrators and security forces in the capital yesterday.
Live fire was heard at the demonstrators, who gathered in the vicinity of the Oil Ministry on the roads leading to Tahrir Square. In Nasiriyah, the center of the southern province of Dhi Qar, protesters burned party headquarters.

With more than 100 people killed since the protests began, the UN mission in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] yesterday called for an end to the violence and said in a statement: "This must stop. Those responsible for violence must be held accountable.

I can agree with you on no overnight RV, well, to a certain point.  We can mostly all agree that at some point we have thought that a LOP is certainly an option for Iraq, but anyone who has looked into a LOP is for countries who have no economic backing, which Iraq does (oil) and have stated several times that they need to get away from dependence on Oil as their only revenue.  That said, there will most likely not, at anytime soon, be an overnight RV of $3+ as there are trillions in circulation and this will continue till they get e-banking as the new norm in Iraq as it is still today a cash based society as there is still NO trust in the banking sector.  All this talk about the lower denims being put into circulation would help with an RV by reducing the larger denims in country, but they need to reduce overall amount of dinar in circulation, which they have not.  Now, where do they RV?  It will not be as high as $3, but it certainly can't be low as then the big players will get involved, as I would bet that not everyone in here holds over a million in dinar, and over the years several have sold and gotten out of this little venture.  So, RV will happen, and most likely when Iraq becomes a free market economy, which they are not, but what will it be pegged at?  $0.30-$0.70? Then let the market decide the value, which should be a quick rise to maybe over $3.
