Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced plans for the first time to resettle 2 million people in the safe area to be built in northern Syria.

Spanish newspaper ABC revealed, in a report, that there is a Turkish project of social engineering against the Syrian Kurds in order to pressure them.
Before the Second World War, during the Great Conflict, Stalin ruthlessly carried out mass displacements of people for ethnic or ideological reasons. It has a remarkable ethnic character and political aims.
Demographic change
“Erdogan announced in Ankara that he has completed the resettlement plan in the Kurdish region of Syria for about 2 million out of the 3.6 million refugees, distributed in camps across his country. The project does not aim to identify the Syrian regime, but Erdogan's goal is clear: a major demographic change, with the aim of controlling and confronting an area ruled by the Syrian Kurds at the present time.
The paper stresses that there is only US cooperation in this project, but warned the Turkish president yesterday that if the Trump administration does not approve the implementation of his project, as soon as possible, Turkey will work alone.
Ankara Plan
Ankara's plan is to build 140 new villages, with a population of 30,000 along the 480-kilometer border with Syria and a 30-kilometer depth.
Some 850,000 Syrians live there, 78 percent of whom are Kurds, who will be overwhelmed by a large number of Syrian refugees of Arab descent, which will cause ethnic tensions.
According to Ankara, Kurdish leaders in Syria have close ties with Turkey's Kurds, especially with the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), and have close ties to the autonomous Kurdish region of Iraq (KRG) in Iraq. The relationship between them and the Kurds in Syria and Turkey may seek to link on the ground, according to the description of the newspaper.
Erdogan threatens
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has again threatened to carry out an operation east of the Euphrates in Syria, saying it is imminent.
Turkey and the United States agreed in August to establish a safe zone between the Euphrates River and the Iraqi border.
The agreement between the United States and Turkey to hand the Syrian Democratic Forces security points to the military council of the region of Tel Abyad, consisting of the same regions.
The agreement stipulated that the safe area would be defined at a depth of 13 to 30 kilometers, which was rejected by Kurdish units, which fear that Turkey would use the area to launch attacks on them. Kurdish forces in case of breach of the agreement

Thanks Rocky, after Erdogan staged a false coup against himself a couple of years ago, he has seized more and more power - but, in the last elections he lost badly but that didn't change anything.  My concern is Turkey is a member of NATO and NATO has a large base in Turkey with nukes.  About a year ago Erdogan ordered Americans off the base - what a scramble that was until things calmed down.  Erdogan also controls the rivers that flow into Iraq - and therein is a huge problem for Iraq - be nice OR no water, the dams can be closed to the rivers feeding Iraq in a heartbeat.  Same problem for Egypt, the Nile headwaters come from Africa and dams have been built and now the Nile is in danger of drying up if Egypt doesn't play nice with the countries that control the flow of water.
