    Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi issued a new reform package on Wednesday in a bid to calm popular protests due to begin on Friday.
    Abdul Mahdi said in a statement: "We will conduct the next session of the House of Representatives next week, ministerial amendments, away from the concepts of quotas, and focus on competencies and the independence of ministers and the increasing presence of young people," pointing to the "importance of the Supreme Judicial Council to form (the Central Court against Corruption) to hold corrupt And open the files of corruption clearly and publicly, especially those that affect the theft of funds for vital projects such as hospitals, schools, streets, bridges and dams. ”
    Abdul Mahdi said that the salaries of officials will be reduced to the fourth degree of presidencies and ministers, members of the House of Representatives and special grades, agents and managers to reach in high cases by half, so that the highest salary and allowances do not exceed 10 million dinars per month ($ 10,000).
    He explained that the funds derived from this, will be in addition to the state's contribution to the establishment of a social security fund, which ensures that no Iraqi will remain below the poverty line, and that any Iraqi without income or any member of a family without income to receive a monthly grant of not less than 130 thousand dinars “.
    This comes after the issuance of Abdul-Mahdi a number of reforms and announced thousands of jobs, to employ unemployed young people, and decided to appoint graduates in the country all without exception.
    Iraq is witnessing large protests, calmed currently to be resumed next Friday to demand political reform, remove Iranian influence from the country, and stimulate the private sector, to provide more jobs.
    Iraqi bloggers and social media activists have called for mass demonstrations in Baghdad and other provinces on October 25 to demand the dismissal of the current Iraqi government of Adel Abdul-Mahdi and hold the killers to account.
