Baghdad Council sues parliament after voting to stop provincial councils

Baghdad provincial council, on Sunday, filed a lawsuit against the President of the Parliament Mohammed Halbousi after the parliament's decision to suspend the work of provincial councils.
A member of the provincial council Saad al-Muttalbi, in a statement to / information /, "The Baghdad Provincial Council filed a lawsuit against the President of the Parliament Mohammed Halbousi after the Council's vote on the decision to stop the work of provincial councils."
He added that "the Council responded to the demands of the demonstrators not wanting the existence of provincial councils, but that suspension is not legal and will be resolved by the judiciary on the continuation of councils or not."
