, Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, said Sunday, the government is continuing to reform the political and economic system and achieve the aspirations and demands of the Iraqi people.
"The meeting was attended by the US House of Representatives delegation headed by Representative of the Democratic Party in Washington and Chairman of the Armed Forces Committee Adam Smith," the Prime Minister's Media Office said in a statement received. The statement added, "The meeting discussed relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation, and support the plans and reform measures taken by the Iraqi government."
Abdul-Mahdi said, "Iraq is keen to establish the best relations with the United States and with its Arab and regional environment," stressing that "the government is serious about the reform process since the beginning of its formation and is continuing to implement its plans and reform procedures and submitted several bills that meet the rights and demands of the Iraqi people in reforming the political system.
