Agency: Soleimani, Sadr and Sistani's son agreed to break up the protests and keep Abdul Mahdi

Iraqi forces began Saturday to disperse demonstrators demanding the "overthrow of the regime," after a political agreement aimed at maintaining the current authority, even if it was forced to use force to end the protests.
After being in a critical position, Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi is now the subject of consensus among political parties and politicians. Those who were demanding his departure have renounced their calls, especially because of political pressure from Iran and its allies in Baghdad.
But in the political scene, the majority of forces continued to meet in recent days, according to AFP cadres from one of the parties that participated in the meetings.
One of these sources pointed out that "political parties agreed during a meeting that included the majority of leaders of large blocs to adhere to Adel Abdul Mahdi and adhere to power in exchange for reforms in the files of anti-corruption and constitutional amendments."
The parties also agreed to "support the government in ending the protests by all available means," he added.
There seems to be a renewed old tendency to restore the Shiite house as a national alliance, according to the same sources.
Political sources pointed out that the agreement between the parties concerned, "including others and the wisdom" came after "the meeting of General Qasim Soleimani Muqtada al-Sadr and Mohammed Reza al-Sisiati (son of Ali al-Sistani), which resulted in the agreement to remain Abdul Mahdi in office."
The sources confirmed that the only party that rejected the agreement is the "victory" coalition led by former Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, who believes that the only solution to the crisis is the departure of Abdul Mahdi.
The translation of the agreement is due to begin on Saturday during a parliamentary session devoted to the work of the committees on constitutional amendments.

As political ranks began, security forces began to advance in the street.
They were able to regain control of three of the four bridges held by demonstrators in Baghdad, according to correspondents from Agence France-Presse.
Although large numbers of demonstrators are gathering in the central Tahrir Square for protests calling for the "overthrow of the regime," the clashes have been going on for four of 12 bridges in the capital.
The protesters marched first towards the bridge of the Republic, which links Tahrir to the Green Zone, which houses government buildings. Security forces lifted three concrete roadblocks on the bridge.
Later, other demonstrators marched towards the bridges of al-Senak, al-Ahrar and the martyrs parallel to the north bridge of the Republic Bridge.
The three bridges at night witnessed clashes between the demonstrators and the security forces that repelled them.
On Saturday morning, Iraqi forces fired tear gas canisters at demonstrators gathering in al-Rashid Street in the center of the capital.
"The security forces woke us up at 2 a.m.," said one of the protesters on al-Sinak Bridge.
"They fired sound bombs and shouted to us, 'Come, cross,'" the masked young man added. "Things are not good, but we are staying until a solution is found."
The Grand Ayatollah, Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, called on security forces on Friday and demonstrators to show restraint and not use force.
But another demonstrator said that "the Marjaiya said yesterday do not strike no live bullets and nothing else, but today they beat us, they said about us and the Baathists, but we do not have anything."
The protests, which began on October 1, witnessed bloody violence that killed about 300 people, the majority of them demonstrators demanding the "overthrow of the regime."
Further south, in the oil-rich Basra province, security forces used live bullets against demonstrators heading to the provincial council building.
Three people were killed and dozens injured, according to medical sources.
As for the camps set up by protesters in the yards of Baghdad and the cities of the south, security forces broke up by force in Basra, and burned with tear gas in the holy city of Karbala for Shiites.
As the Internet has been forcibly shut down since the beginning of the week, Iraqis are wary of the worst, with the memory of the first week of protests beginning in October.
The first wave of protests between October 1 and 6 was marked by snipers on the roofs of buildings targeting protesters, but their identity remains unknown to the authorities.
