The official said, "The recent US statement issued by the White House, as a lifting of support for the Iraqi government, and demanding its removal by calling for early elections."
He added, "Washington and other Western countries stand against the Iranian settlement or deal that ended with the survival of the current government, which may be a major reason for the US statement."
The official revealed that "the American side is communicating with President Barham Saleh, who has shifted to convey positions between Washington and the government of Abdul Mahdi, which can be considered a precedent in the level of US-Iraqi relations since the US invasion of the country."
He likely, that "there will be US positions other than those on the internationalization of demonstrations, including with regard to granting Iraq exemptions from dealing with Iran on the import of gas and electricity, it is possible that Washington can end this exception and impose on Baghdad either cut off dealing with Iran or sanctions ".
The official said, "The White House statement is a more cautious statement than giving part of the solutions, but so far there is no official position or response by Baghdad to the statement, which is under study by the competent authorities in this regard." Ends 29/43
