The MP of the Fatah Alliance Abbas Zamili, on Sunday, that the general trend within the House of Representatives is moving towards the abolition of the provincial councils fully through the constitutional amendments, pointing out that the government should guide other regulatory bodies to carry out their responsibility towards the provinces.
Zamili said in a statement to the information, that "the file to cancel the provincial councils is one of the six files on the table of the Committee on Constitutional Amendments, as the House of Representatives adopted mainly to cancel these councils."
He added that "the provincial councils are the closest supervisory authority on the provinces, in addition to that there are nearly eight directorates belonging to the provinces in their work, but the size of corruption that exists within these councils and their failure leads the parliament to abolish."
He pointed out that "there are regulatory bodies that can perform other duties towards the provinces, to be an alternative to the duties of the provincial councils with regard to overseeing the performance of governors, especially integrity and the Office of Financial Supervision and Public Prosecution Offices, as it is assumed to take a greater role after the abolition of the provincial councils." Finished 25 N
