    The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has launched the fourth batch of the emergency grant, while revealing its plan to be implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals to set up marketing complexes for the unemployed. 

    Labor Minister Bassem Abdel Zaman said in a special statement to al-Sabah that his ministry has launched the fourth batch of emergency grants for the unemployed in the next few days this week, stressing that his ministry has completed the distribution of the funds allocated for the third batch, which was launched last week and includes 100,000 unemployed people, adding that the fourth meal will include 100,000 unemployed people and will be distributed through the outlets of Sweig. 
    He said that the ministry has granted more than 54,000 unemployed people loans, which he noted has been allocated in order to start implementing their small income-generating projects in order to improve their income level, noting that the covered are registered in a database over a period of seven years for the period from 2013 to 2019.  
    Abdel-Zaman said the loans were granted on the basis of the lending program and included more than 11,000 beneficiaries, and poverty alleviation strategies, during which more than 43,000 beneficiaries were granted, stating in the same context that the loans granted to the unemployed are interest-free and will be repaid over five years after receiving the loans. 
    He pointed out that his ministry coordinated with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals to establish marketing complexes in the vital commercial areas important in Baghdad and the provinces, in order to operate about 16 factories that have been suspended for years in order to attract the number of unemployed and their employment within these factories, as well as to encourage local production in the country, in addition to developing the revenues of the pension fund and social security, explaining in the same context that an agreement was reached with the Ministry of Industry to operate the factories that have been suspended from work, pointing out that technical and coordination steps will be initiated to invest factories and production companies and subsidiaries.
