Shafaq News / Kurdish blocs alliance said on Sunday , that the move of Kurdistan Region to sell its oil on the international markets is a result of cutting the salaries of the staff of the region by the federal government .
A member of the alliance , Mehdi Haji told “Shafaq News " , that " as a result of federal government policy towards Kurdistan , the region found itself compelled to provide funds for the salaries of its staff made by the federal government ," adding that " if the federal government cut salaries from Basra province , it would have taken the same action . "
Haji explained that " the regional government take full responsibility for its people , as the federal government way of dealing with the regional government has closed all doors to reach an agreement but by exporting oil to address the problem of salaries to employees of the region”.
The Iraqi authorities announced legal action against Turkey after Ankara's announcement of exporting oil of Kurdistan to global markets .
Kurdistan Regional Government began on Thursday exporting crude oil through the Turkish port of Ceyhan to the world markets .
Turkish Energy Minister, Taner Yildiz said that " the first shipment of crude oil from Kurdistan Region of one million barrels , are being loaded in the port of Ceyhan on the Mediterranean ."
Yildiz pointed out that "the quantity of Kurdistan oil stored in Ceyhan reached up to 2.0005 million barrels ."
Ankara’s government said earlier that it is storing Kurdistan oil exports in the port of Ceyhan , until the settlement of the dispute between Baghdad and Erbil .
Iraqi Ministry of Oil warned from the export of oil without the knowledge of the federal government , by saying that it will start its investigation in order to stand on the repeated information on its export.
