    BAGHDAD - The
    US Embassy in Baghdad revealed on Tuesday the details of the visit of US Deputy Defense Secretary to Baghdad and Erbil.
    "Deputy Secretary of Defense for Policy John Rudd visited Baghdad and Erbil on 24 and 25 November to discuss US security cooperation in the region and the US role in the international coalition to defeat ISIS," the embassy statement said.
    The statement added, "Deputy Minister met with Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi and Defense Minister Najah al-Shammari in Baghdad, as well as in Erbil met with Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government Masroor Barzani and Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani."
    And that, "US Deputy Secretary of Defense John Rudd reviews the progress in the campaign to eliminate ISIS during his visit to both Baghdad and Erbil."
    He continued, "The Deputy Secretary of Defense highlighted the ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships and cooperation in the field of defense between the United States and Iraq and the importance of the relationship between the United States and Iraq as well as continued bilateral cooperation in support of a unified and democratic Iraq prosperous."
    The Deputy Defense Secretary denounced, "the killing and abduction of demonstrators, threats to freedom of expression and the cycle of violence, while stressing US support for the Iraqi people who are struggling for their country to enjoy impeccable well-being and malicious foreign interference."
