The dissolved Najaf provincial council on Monday accused "deviant groups" working to execute "foreign agendas" by sabotaging the province and destroying all public property, noting that foreign agendas prompted the engineers to re-burn the Iranian consulate.
The former council member Zuhair al-Jubouri said in a statement to "information" that "peaceful demonstrators demanded the government and security forces to intervene and get out the engineers among them not to offend the reformist revolution, which was supported by the religious authority."
Jubouri added that "deviant religious groups learning to implement malicious external agendas installed the wave of demonstrations and incited teenagers to target government buildings and private and public property."
Jubouri pointed out that "the repeated burning of the Iranian consulate building in Najaf comes within those external agendas to isolate [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
